Cargo Tracking Note for Nigeria

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has implemented Cargo Tracking Note (CTN) for all shipments in and out of Nigeria with immediate effect as part of the procedure for cargo security.

Every commodity loaded or unloaded (Imported/Exported) at or with Nigeria as the final destination has to, prior to shipment, obtain a CTN or International Cargo Tracking document from a NPA representative at all ports around the world.

Therefore, all cargo destined for or out of Nigeria need to be accompanied by a CTN and every bill of lading has to be accompanied by a corresponding CTN number.

CTN is a web-based high technology tool for monitoring of import and export goods. It notes the cargo type, origin, quantity, carrier and vessel and other shipment information and generates automatic information alert to the ports of destination.
