Dangerous Goods Restrictions during World Expo 2010 Shanghai

The Shanghai Maritime Safety Authority (SMSA) has imposed restrictions on certain dangerous goods shipments during the World Expo 2010 Shanghai.

The Expo will be held from 1 May to 31 October 2010 on the waterfront area on both sides of the Huangpu River. All port terminals in the middle and upstream of Huangpu River are prohibited from handling dangerous goods from 15 April to 15 October 2010.

Beginning 30 April to 31 October 2010, all port terminals, except Yangshan terminal will be prohibited from handling certain dangerous goods (refer to table below). In addition, export of fireworks at Wai Gao Qiao terminals will be reviewed and approved by SMSA on a per voyage basis.
